Dr. Tapan Singhel has been with Bajaj Allianz since its inception in 2001 and was an integral part of the team starting up the insurance business in the retail market. He took over as MD and CEO in 2012. Under his leadership in the last 13 years, the company has driven innovations, industry-first initiatives and focused on customer centricity. The company’s sales, distribution and customer engagement went digital under his guidance.

Prior to this, he was the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. He has also handled various roles in the company, such as Regional Manager, Zonal Head and Head of all retail channels as CMO.

As the MD & CEO of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, he has ensured growth, profitability and cost leadership in the industry. At present, he is the Chairman GI-Council and also chairs the CII National Committee on Insurance and Pensions. His leadership has been recognized across the globe. He was awarded MD of the Year at the Making India Employable Conference & Awards 2024, CEO of the Year at IDC Future Enterprise Awards India 2024, CEO of the Year at IDC Future Enterprise Awards India 2023. He won the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the 25th Asia Insurance Industry Awards 2021. He was featured as ‘LinkedIn Top Voice in India’ in 2019 and 2018. These are just a few recognitions from a very long list of awards that he has won throughout his illustrious career.

Anckur Anil Kanwar is the Chief Financial Officer of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance. In his role, he oversees financial matters at the Company and Business Vertical levels. Additionally, his responsibilities include providing strategic inputs to achieve optimal outcomes for the Company.
With over 20 years of experience in the insurance sector across finance, reinsurance and underwriting domains, Anckur brings deep expertise to the Company. Prior to this, he served as the Deputy CFO at ICICI Lombard and has held key leadership roles as part of his extensive experience. Anckur is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Gaurav Malhotra is the Appointed Actuary of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and has been working with the Company for over 9 years. In his role he is responsible for product pricing, product performance monitoring, statistical claims reserving, solvency including economic capital, asset and liability management, and Company’s financial condition report.

Before joining Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, Gaurav has worked as a Senior Consultant with Willis Towers Watson for over 8 years in India and Singapore. He started his career as a Risk Analyst at McKinsey Knowledge Centre. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI) and has an MCA degree from JNU, New Delhi. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Science.

Avez joined Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company as Chief Risk Officer in 2023. He is responsible for overseeing the company's enterprise risk management framework, which is in accordance with global best practices and covers all regulatory requirements. Avez, a seasoned insurance professional, has held key leadership roles in the non-life insurance sector for over 19 years. His impressive track record in value creation and protection is a testament to his expertise. Notably, he served as the Chief Risk Officer and Head of Internal Audit & Fraud Investigations at SBI General from 2018 to 2023. Prior to that, he spearheaded the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function at ICICI Lombard for 13 years, also serving as the designated Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Avez has been instrumental in shaping the Information & Cyber Security regulatory framework and championing risk management best practices throughout his career. He holds two postgraduate degrees: a Master's in Insurance and Risk Management from Cass Business School, City University London, and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Pune.

Certified as a Lead Auditor in Information Security Management Systems and a Lead Implementer in Personal Information Management Systems, Quality Management, and Business Continuity Management Systems. Avez has also been a speaker at various leadership forums and a committed volunteer at numerous educational institutions.

Onkar, Head – Corporate Legal & Company Secretary, is with the Company since 2008. He takes care of company secretarial, litigation, contract management and acts as in-house legal counsel for all the business and support functions. He is also responsible for the CSR and ESG activities under the overall BFS Group guidance. He headed the compliance function of the Company for 14 years and also headed Liability Insurance claims for 5 years. Previously, he has worked in engineering, infra-projects and consulting firms and has over 18 years of work experience. Onkar is a law graduate, an associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and the Insurance Institute of India and commerce post-graduate from the University of Pune. Besides work, Onkar is an outdoor person and loves motorcycling and trekking.
