Dr. Tapan Singhel has been with Bajaj General Insurance since its inception in 2001 and was an integral part of the team starting up the insurance business in the retail market. He took over as MD and CEO in 2012. Under his leadership in the last 14 years, the company has driven innovations, industry-first initiatives, and focused on customer centricity. The company’s sales, distribution and customer engagement went digital under his guidance.

Prior to this, he was the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Bajaj General Insurance. He has also handled various roles in the company, such as Regional Manager, Zonal Head and Head of all retail channels as CMO.

As the MD & CEO of Bajaj General Insurance, he has ensured growth, profitability and cost leadership in the industry. At present, he is the Chairman GI-Council and also chairs the CII National Committee on Insurance and Pensions. His leadership has been recognised across the globe. He was awarded MD of the Year at the Making India Employable Conference & Awards 2024, CEO of the Year at IDC Future Enterprise Awards India 2024, CEO of the Year at IDC Future Enterprise Awards India 2023. Avais Karmali is the Chief Financial Officer of Bajaj General Insurance Limited, bringing over 19 years of global experience, including 13 years in the insurance industry across Asia, Europe, and the USA. He has deep expertise in insurance strategy, risk & capital management, risk governance, and product optimization, with a strong record of delivering sustainable performance.

Prior to joining Bajaj General Insurance, Avais held senior roles at Bajaj Finserv and Allianz Group where he served on several Boards of Directors across Europe and Asia. A business economics graduate from the College of Wooster, USA, and a Master's in Actuarial Science from HEC Lausanne, Switzerland, Avais blends global insight with technical excellence.

Amarnath is responsible for defining the commercial underwriting, also overseeing retail underwriting and reinsurance strategy of Bajaj General Insurance, driving profitable growth across property, engineering, marine, surety and specialty lines businesses

He oversees commercial underwriting, reinsurance, non-motor claims and risk management functions, ensuring effective risk assessment, portfolio profitability, claims governance and regulatory compliance.

He works closely with regulators, reinsurers, brokers, clients and business teams to strengthen underwriting capabilities, optimize risk management practices and support sustainable business growth.

Dipu is responsible for leading Operations and Customer Care at Bajaj General Insurance, driving process excellence, customercentricity and operational efficiency across the organization.

He oversees business process re-engineering, centralized and decentralized operations, customer service and digital transformation initiatives, ensuring seamless service delivery and continuous process improvement.

He works closely with business functions, channel partners, customers and regulators to enhance customer experience, optimize operating costs and support sustainable business growth.

Vikramjeet is responsible for leading the Human Resources, Investigation & Loss Mitigation, and Administration functions at Bajaj General Insurance, driving the people strategy, organizational transformation and a high-performance culture aligned with business objectives

He oversees talent acquisition, talent management, leadership development, employee engagement, fraud prevention, investigations, infrastructure and administration, while strengthening organizational capability, governance and operational effectiveness.

He works closely with relevant internal and external stakeholders to build future-ready talent, strengthen employer brand, enhance fraud risk management and support sustainable business growth.

Gaurav Malhotra is the Appointed Actuary of Bajaj General Insurance and has been working with the Company for over 9 years. In his role he is responsible for product pricing, product performance monitoring, statistical claims reserving, solvency including economic capital, asset and liability management, and Company’s financial condition report.

Before joining Bajaj General Insurance, Gaurav has worked as a Senior Consultant with Willis Towers Watson for over 8 years in India and Singapore. He started his career as a Risk Analyst at McKinsey Knowledge Centre. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI) and has an MCA degree from JNU, New Delhi. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Science.

Rakesh is responsible for driving the retail distribution strategy of Bajaj General Insurance across Agency, Geography Distribution, Motor, Health and Omnichannel Business

He oversees retail sales, distribution partnerships, customer acquisition and business development initiatives, while driving growth, profitability and market expansion across retail channels.

He works closely with channel partners, customers and internal stakeholders to strengthen distribution capabilities, enhance customer experience and deliver sustainable business growth

Onkar, Head – Corporate Legal & Company Secretary, is with the Company since 2008. He takes care of company secretarial, litigation, contract management and acts as in-house legal counsel for all the business and support functions. He is also responsible for the CSR and ESG activities under the overall BFS Group guidance. He headed the compliance function of the Company for 14 years and also headed Liability Insurance claims for 5 years. Previously, he has worked in engineering, infra-projects and consulting firms and has over 18 years of work experience. Onkar is a law graduate, an associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and the Insurance Institute of India and commerce post-graduate from the University of Pune. Besides work, Onkar is an outdoor person and loves motorcycling and trekking.

Anand is responsible for providing independent assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes across Bajaj General Insurance.

He oversees the Internal Audit function, driving audit planning, execution and reporting to identify control gaps, strengthen compliance and improve operational efficiency across the organization

He works closely with the Audit Committee, business functions and key stakeholders to enhance governance standards and functions to deliver organizational priorities and business outcomes.

Avez joined Bajaj General Insurance Company as Chief Risk Officer in 2023. He is responsible for overseeing the company's enterprise risk management framework, which is in accordance with global best practices and covers all regulatory requirements. Avez, a seasoned insurance professional, has held key leadership roles in the non-life insurance sector for over 19 years. His impressive track record in value creation and protection is a testament to his expertise. Notably, he served as the Chief Risk Officer and Head of Internal Audit & Fraud Investigations at SBI General from 2018 to 2023. Prior to that, he spearheaded the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function at ICICI Lombard for 13 years, also serving as the designated Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Avez has been instrumental in shaping the Information & Cyber Security regulatory framework and championing risk management best practices throughout his career. He holds two postgraduate degrees: a Master's in Insurance and Risk Management from Cass Business School, City University London, and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Pune.

Certified as a Lead Auditor in Information Security Management Systems and a Lead Implementer in Personal Information Management Systems, Quality Management, and Business Continuity Management Systems. Avez has also been a speaker at various leadership forums and a committed volunteer at numerous educational institutions.

Avinash is responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy of Bajaj General Insurance, driving digital transformation, innovation and technology-enabled business growth.

He oversees enterprise technology platforms, IT operations, architecture and transformation programs, ensuring reliable, scalable and future-ready technology solutions across the organization.

He works closely with business leaders, technology partners and industry stakeholders to enhance customer experience, improve operational efficiency and strengthen the organization's digital capabilities.

Satish is responsible for driving the Corporate Business Group & Liability LOB at Bajaj General Insurance, delivering profitable growth through corporate client acquisition, portfolio management and strategic business development.

He oversees corporate sales across direct and broker channels, ensures delivery of customized insurance solutions and manages relationships with key corporate clients, brokers and business partners.

He works closely with underwriting, product and claims teams to strengthen client engagement, optimize portfolio performance and support sustainable business growth.

Vikram is responsible for developing and executing the marketing, digital marketing and brand strategy of Bajaj General Insurance to enhance brand visibility, customer engagement and business growth

Aashish Sethi is the Chief Distribution Officer – Bancassurance and Government Business (Institutional Sales) at Bajaj General Insurance. He has significant experience of more than 33 years, with close to 26 years in the insurance sector, in senior leadership positions in Life (Tata AIA Life Insurance), Health (Apollo Munich Health Insurance), and General (Bajaj General Insurance Limited, formerly known as Bajaj Allianz General Insurance). This gives him the unique distinction of having worked in all three businesses of the insurance industry.

He has managed a spectrum of verticals, including Agency, Travel, Health Distribution, RSM, Bancassurance, Pensions, Retail and Institutional Strategy & Distribution Management, Alliances, Corporate Business, and Digital & Rural businesses.

Aashish holds a graduate degree in hospitality management, followed by a 2-year course with the ITC Management Institute (Gurugram) and Certificate Courses on Strategy & Execution from IIM Ahmedabad and Innovation from Harvard Business School.

Ashish Agrawal leads the Agri-Business and Rural vertical at Bajaj General Insurance Limited (formerly known as Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company), driving innovation and resilience in rural and agricultural insurance. With nearly two decades of experience, he has built robust distribution networks, overseen underwriting and managed claims for diverse insurance products tailored to India’s rural markets. He has played a pivotal role in designing and implementing products for emerging climate risks such as heat waves and extreme weather events. His expertise has been recognised through nominations to several committees constituted by the Government of India tasked with shaping national crop insurance policies.

Ashish holds an MBA in Agri-Business Management from IIM Ahmedabad and an M.Tech in Agricultural Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He has further strengthened his credentials by completing the Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) certification course organised by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). Additionally, he has completed the Advanced Management Program in Fintech and Financial Blockchain from IIM, Kolkata, expanding his leadership into the intersection of insurance, technology and financial innovation.
